A geological surveying method which involves measuring vibrations through the earth’s surface – a little like a medical ultrasound

X-ray Diffraction

A non-destructive method used to assess a mineral’s structure, based on how X-rays scatter and break up when aimed at the mineral.

X-ray Fluorescence

A non-destructive method used to assess the elemental composition of a mineral, based on how the mineral ‘fluorescence’ when bombarded with X-rays.
